Kevin’s career has included various solo, duet, and combo work in both jazz and classical literature. As an accomplished audio engineer, instructor and producer, Kevin owns/operates a project recording studio in the Kansas City area. As a recording artist/producer, Mr. Sterchi has published seven CD recordings with London based North Star Music record company(

About Me

Kevin Sterchi is a guitarist and educator based in the Kansas City metro area. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Southern Illinois University. He is a graduate of the College for Recording Arts in San Francisco.

   Mr. Sterchi earned the annual Jazz Award from the National Association of Jazz Educators in 1988 from Southern Illinois University for his work in jazz performance and composition.

   In his early teens he was influenced by the Beatles and various popular music. Later came rock influences of Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Cream, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Yes and others. After high school it became Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny, John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, John McLaughlin, Jim Hall, Ralph Towner, Pat Martino, Miles Davis, Bill Frisell, John Williams(guitarist) and countless others
